I’ve heard only lately that the three hardest things to deal with in life are : death, having children and buying your first home. Death is never pleasant and doesn’t get easier to deal with, children, I’ll let you know in two months but buying a home, well maybe. The wifey and I have been looking for a house for about two years and It appears that the search is over.
Yesterday, we got the keys and it is officially ours. The house is just barely 81 years old and in fantastic condition.
Like with any old house there are things that need to change. The biggest and most pressing on my list is the removal of the 70’s wood paneling on the walls of what will be our nursery. As soon as I got in there i went, having forgoten my crow bar, and ripped the paneling of the wall only to confirm my greatest fear. Fifty years worth of layered wall paper. Plaids, stripes, florals and clown like patterns all mocking me with that, we will not go easy stare. But go they will. I’ll post pics as the room gets torn down as well as the rest of the house.
Oh yeah I almost forgot. I have a garage!!!
